My husband and I stayed here for an over night the first part of February.

The first thing that you want to be aware of when you visit is NOT to take your camper / motorhome down the driveway toward the store. The trees hang low and you will take off your air-conditioner if you hit a low branch. There is a sign posted.

The campground was very nice. The sites are large too. Some shaded but most of them were out in the sun. Very easy to back into!

This is a fisherman's paradise!! There is a large boat ramp with plenty of parking for truck and trailer. There is also space to dock your boat. If you don't have a boat, you can rent them - for reasonable rates.

There was a fishing tournament going on while we were there. About 20 boats were heading into shore when we took a walk down to the river. Not sure what they were catching as we continued our walk before the weighing began.

Outside the camp-store there was a fire blazing in the firepit. A nice warm-up since the day we were there it was only around 50 degrees.

This campground also has a large motel. What was really neat about the place was the parking lot. Each space was long enough for both truck and trailer. You could just imagine the place filled during peak season.

There is a saloon located 5 minutes (walking) from both the motel and campground. They have pool, darts and video games. They also have karaoke a couple of nights a week.

We will definately return here again if we are in the area. It was very relaxing and quiet with a nice atmosphere.

All I have to say about this place is: WOW!!!

This is a huge campground, over 1,000 sites. We traveled there in October so it wasn't busy at all. In fact they were closing down part of the park for the winter.

Our site was about 1/2 a football field to the ocean! We were up early each morning to see the sunrise. At night you could hear the waves breaking on the beach.

Each site has a covered gazebo with a pic-nic table. And the distance between sites was reasonable.

We took a walk around, there is both indoor and outdoor pools. Clean laundry room with a camp-store next door. The bathrooms/bath-houses were clean, spacious, and really nice.

This was really a beautiful place. We have already made plans to return.

The only disappointing part of our stay was the "All-U-Can-Eat Buffett Dinner" at one of the many tourist attraction/restaurants. My advise is: Stay away from Buffett!

This campground is in transition.

Thats not to say it's not a nice place - it's just got some room to grow.

The campground is as flat as can be. All the sites are pull-thru. You aren't sitting on top of the unit next to you - i.e. there is room between the sites.

This is a great place to stay while you are on your way to some place else. It's right off the highway, with lots of amenities close by.

I spoke with the campground manager while I was there: He was very informative and friendly. Apparently there are some good "local" restaurants and some nice hiking trails & waterfall. We didn't par-take in anything because we were tired from a long day traveling.

I would return for convenience sake.

What a beautiful campground this is. This place was designed for travelers who can stay awhile. There are activities going on all the time. In addition there is a very large pool, game room, mini golf, and a golf driving range.

The entrance to the campground has some historic items, many tractors and a caboose.

Our site was a very large pull-thru site. And the view of the mountains was fantastic. The place was packed for the weekend but we were able to stay for 1 night.

This campground is easy access in and out. It's about 5 miles from the highway. The people in the office where very friendly and accommodating.

We would certainly come back again and stay longer the next time.

We stayed at this KOA on our trip from NH to FL. The campground is located just off route 209, about 2 miles. The road is very twisty to get there but still not a problem with a large motorhome. (We are 38 feet, and towing a car)

We arrived after the office was closed but our reservation with instructions to the site where found easily.

The campground is nice and flat. We had a very large pull-thru site so we could leave the car attached overnight.

The campground was clean and quiet; campfire pits at all the sites too. We did not walk around the campground because we got there kind of late and it was snowing and very cold. But from what I could see out the window the place look very nice. The campsites were not right on top of each other - very nice!

On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give it about an 8. I would certainly come back again. It was convenient to our travel plans.

We often go out and scout around at different campgrounds to see what we might be "missing." This campground was one of the ones we visited a couple weeks ago.

WOW!! This is a campground we would definately stay at!

The features that "wowed us" were: Pool, mini-golf course, lake beach with swimming. Well maintained and groomed landscaping and sites. Clean bathrooms. (We checked!) And the staff at the front office were really nice!

There were at least a dozen or so sites right ON the lake. (Just back your camper up) And the sites that were not were only steps away.

In addition, I was speaking with a fellow camping friend the other day who has stayed there. She and her family go for a week each summer and absolutely love it.

WOW!
We stayed here the end of October 2008. This place was fabulous! We had a big, beautiful site with views of the water. The sites were spacious and well landscaped.

The entire "resort" was well cared for and clean. The management/owners were very friendly. We were able to pick our site - rather then having one assigned.

The place is about a 10 - 15 minutes drive to the beaches and the "tourist" part of the island.

Would we return? Absolutely!!

We stayed overnight here July 13th and 14th. What an amazing place. Really beautiful. The campground is not very big. I think about 40 sites or so. We had a nice site, very easy to back in to.
Some of the sites are a bit close to one another - but ours was not. There are about 5 sites right on the beach/water. And then another 4 that are up on the hill over-looking the water. That will be our choice next time we stay.
The journey into the campground was a bit ..... interesting. A lot of construction work being done, along with sharp corners and some narrow streets. I personally would not recommend towing ones car behind your motorhome thru town (boothbay harbor) - but it can be done. (easier if you don't)
The campground owners were really great, very pleasant. Upon our arrival too, we ordered lobsters that were cooked and ready at our requested time. This is a very nice feature. Especially if you don't want to stink up your camper by steaming lobster in it!
This is certainly a place to return to. Lots to do at the campground as well as in town, which is only about 5 minutes away.

We stayed here the first night we owned our motorhome. We arrived well after dark and were very satisfied at how easy the sites were to get into.
While the office was closed upon our arrival - there was a detailed map and site-assignment paperwork taped to the front door of the office. The site/campground map was very easy to follow. (I've seen some that are NOT!)

In the morning we found ourselves among the company of ducks. Lots and lots of ducks. They were happy with our breakfast scraps and hung out with us for awhile.

The campground was very nice; very clean. We registered in the morning and were on our way out very early. The beach was very close but we didn't have time to play "tourist."

We will certainly return when we get the opportunity!

We had a lovely time at this campground. Met some very nice people who were seasonal folks.

Quite a few sites are right on the water, and if you aren't on the water - it's just a few minutes walk there.
There are boats for rent as well as a little restaurant/bar located on the water as well.

Some sites are a bit close to one another (ours was) but I think there is a mix. The sites on the water were very very close to one another, but if I remember correctly some of the sites had a little dock/walkway behind them - so I guess that made up for it.

When we were there the pool was being re-cemented plus other work was being done, but we still had an enjoyable time. We did quite a bit of walking around.

Would I return? Probably not. It was a nice place to visit and a nice to place to stay - but nothing so extraordinary that I have to return. I would opt to go someplace new.
